Cenovia Cummins

Cenovia Cummins, violinist, is the concertmaster of The New York Pops, Riverside Symphony and the School of American Ballet Orchestra. 

She has recorded for and/or appeared on VH1, Saturday Night Live, Good Morning America, and late-night talk shows hosted by Steven Colbert, Jimmy Fallon,  David Letterman and Conan O’Brien, with music industry greats such as Tony Bennett, Aerosmith, Cheap Trick, Madonna, Sheryl Crow, James Taylor, Britney Spears, Paul McCartney, Diana Krall, P. Diddy, Rod Stewart, and Michael Jackson,  among others. Cenovia has also held chairs on Broadway shows including American Idiot, Beauty and the Beast, Ragtime, Big River, Guys and Dolls, Cry Baby, City of Angels, Fiddler on the Roof, Bonnie and Clyde, Ghost, and many others.

 

Cenovia's violin solos have been featured in the major motion pictures Lovely & Amazing and Julie and Julia.  

  She has performed several times in New York City Ballet’s production of "Red Angels" for four dancers and solo electric violin.

As well as playing for many TV shows and themes such as the Golf Channel, Boardwalk Empire and CBS early show, Cenovia’s solo violin playing is featured in Masterpiece Theaters “Mystery” series theme.

 

Cenovia is also a composer and pianist. Her classical compositions for oboe and violin and also cello and violin have been performed frequently and to critical acclaim.She has a solo piano cd entitled Solo Piano. Her jazz quintet, CC and Friends has played to sold out jazz clubs and venues in the the NYC/NY and NJ areas.
